Inalegwu who made the promise today at Obagaji the local government headquarters during the handing over of the LG to him stated that “power is transient, it comes and goes, but the most important thing is what you will be remembered for”.

According to him, he has not come to witch hunt anyone, but to make corrections where necessary and those who were able to follow his corrections would make an indelible mark for themselves.

He said, local government should not be looked at as a place for payment of salaries, but the third tiers of government where grassroots development must be given priority attention.

“The greatest way to motivating people is by recognising them, I have come again to make impacts, to stabilise Agatu, to unite the people and to make Agatu the greatest LG in Benue State .I will remain here with you in Agatu always as the governor directed. I will organise football match and other things, I did it before when I built the secretariat, quarters, culverts, schools, and even bought Agatu heritage buses among others” he re-echoed.

Earlier in his address, the outgoing acting chairman of Agatu, Mr Omeka Okpave urged Agatu people to give same tremendous supports he got from them to his successor adding that, the choice of Hon Mike Inalegwu by governor Samuel Ortom was a round peg in a round hole. He said he met challenges when he came onboard, but was optimistic that the Sole Administrator would do his best to surmount those challenges.

In their separate speeches, the Ad’Agatu Chief G.N Onah, the Education Secretary Mr Clement Otukpa, Mr Akpa Idu, Shaidu Ojekpo, Mrs Deborah Mike, Mr Daniel Ojema as well as Mr Eka all commended the governor for bringing hon Michael Inalegwu saying they would give him their maximum supports.

Very Rev Fr Samuel Ehatikpo blessed the secretariat, the quarters as well as everyone in attendance With holy water.
