The Ogbobuluwa K’Idoma and Benue State Acting Governor Engr Benson Abounu hosted elected council chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries and councillors from the 9 local government areas in Benue South Senatorial District at his Otukpo residence on Sunday.

Engr Benson Abounu who interacted freely with the invitees charged them to ensure that they succeed in their new assignment, and leave behind indelible footprints in the hearts of the people of the state.

He challenged them to be good ambassadors of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in their respective local government areas, and to work together to uphold, project and defend the good name of the party and endear it more to the people. According to him, the APC has set the pace for change in Africa; unseating a government in power on a platform of change, integrity and action.

Engr Benson Abounu stated that notwithstanding the harsh economic times, the council chairmen and their various councils should strive hard to execute projects for the benefit of the People, adding that at the end of the day, they shall be remembered for the projects they executed and the lives they were able to touch.

He called on them to run an inclusive government, working together in unity with all the principal actors at the local government system as well as stakeholders from their areas.
The state party chairman, Comrade Abba Yaro also charged them to stand up for the party and work hard to ensure its victory in all future elections.
There were also goodwill messages from distinguished members of the party, among them Chief Godwin Okpoju, Chief John Ochoga, Chief John Enyi, Chief Nelson Alapa, Rt Hon. Ralph Igbago and the state commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Lawrence Onoja Jr.
