To aggressively pursue the welfare of veterans in Nigeria, the Nigerian legion in collaboration with national personal assets acquisition scheme (NAPASS) has organized a leadership retreat for chairmen and secretaries of state branches and commandant of corps of commissioners, the theme of this year’s retreat “Harmonizing and Aligning the Nigerian Legion Activities for more Effective Role Play” was held in Jos in the Plateau state capital at the famous NDA camp.
In a keynote address the national Chairman of the Nigerian Legion Brig. Gen. Adakole Jones Akpa (rtd) emphasised that the repositioning of the legion is pertinent at this critical era when we celebrate the fallen heroes who have fought vehemently for the existence of our great nation. He said that key issues like repositioning of the national HQ to be functionally effective and relevant, strengthening the management structure at the state and LGC level. He further noted that the restoration of social confidence via economic stability for veterans nationwide.
The retreat drew men and women from all works of life to contribute their quota to the repositioning of the legion.
