Jos Crisis: “Ortom care little about humanity” NAIS National President Spits Fire

The National President, National Association of Idoma Students NAIS Comrade Samuel Ajonye Peters has discribed the leadership of Samuel Ortom as one who trust in God but dont fear God. He made this remarks on his facebook wall when he lamented about the lackadaisical attitude of the Benue State Government led by His Excellency Dr. Samuel Ortom towards the plight of Benue Students in the University of Jos following the renewed crisis in the area which affected the University community killing one Student.

Read Satatement below.

with a sense of humility and honour, I must commend the management of pleasure travels for this humanitarian services they have rendered to NUBESSITES in Jos.

I must appreciate the Jos branch manager, Mr. Uga Bosua for keeping to his words as promised yesterday.

We the NUBESSITES in Unijos are very much sad with the benue state government for the negligence and lackadaisical attitude towards us.

This has clearly shown to us that, the present government of benue state under the leadership of Dr. Samuel Ortom care little about humanity.

I want to remind the benue state government that 2019 general election will surely come and pass, but humanity can never be taken away from us.

In addition to that, the government can only govern those that are alive NOT the dead.

We also appreciate the National Union of Benue state students (NUBESS) for the good fight, let us continue with the spirit of oneness irrespective of tribes and ethnicity. “an injury to one, is an injury to all.”

It will be recall that, last week thursday, Jos was engulfed with crisis that resulted to lost of lives and properties.

This crisis on sunday metamorphosis into muslims and Christians crisis following the attack on the church around Tina junction which university of Jos community was later affected leading to the death of Shadrack Fenam Kums, a 300level student from the department of law.

With effect to the crisis, states like Taraba, Akwa Ibom, Nassarawa, Kogi, Delta, among others immediately sent in buses with security men to evacuates their students back home.

To our dismay and surprised, we read from the report which the benue state government alleged that the VC and DVC of Unijos who evacuated their children on campus has assured the benue state government of security of her students on campus.

Any sensitive government with a sense of humane supposed to carried out a primary investigation to ascertain the security state of her affected students not just rely on phone-call assurance from the VC and DVC.

But the benue state government, because she has education commissioner who happens to be a Unijos lecturer was calling people who were in safe-heaven to confirm the state of security on campus.

I am not writing this piece to impress anyone neither am I seeking cheap praises, but the re-active attitude of benue State government is totally unacceptable, and should be condemn by all who mean well for the state.

I want to bring to the notice of the benue state government that, the same people she was calling to confirm the state of the security on campus evacuated their children and wards on campus.

The same security the managements of the University claimed to have provided were the one evacuating their children on campus.

Apart from the threat of safety, we were in school without food, benue state students were starving in school as none of us could even go out to buy food.

On this note, I will love to posit to NUBESSITES that, as 2019 general elections draw near, let us look inward and wisely elect people that are not just trusting in God but are God-fearing.
