Edo Politics: Elder Pius Omonfuma lauds Governor Obaseki Over Rehabilitation of Ekpoma Roads and environs.

Kelly O. Udebhulu reports.

EKPOMA-A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State and leader of APC in Esan West Local Government, Elder Pius Omonfuma-CEO, GT Foods Worldwide-has described Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, as one of the very few governors who are genuinely committed to the development of his state, through prudent management of the state resources as displayed since he became the state governor.

He also commended the governor for his vigorous step towards tackling the menace of Ekpoma roads that has threatened the people in the community over the years because of the bad roads network across the local government and environs, expressing optimism that with the spate of works at Ebhoakhuara/Uhumudumu areas in Ekpoma so far, and rapid respond to funding of the on going road projects by the state government, the perennial flooding and death traps on the roads will soon be a thing of the past.

Elder Omonfuma stated this in his Easter message made available to journalists in his country home at Ekpoma, the headquarter of the local government.

He said “Let me publicly commend the governor of Edo State for his uncommon transformation of the state since he became the governor. I had thought performance in government started and ended in Lagos until these few years in Edo state under the former Governor Oshiomhole and the present Governor Obaseki. I then came to the conclusion, because of what I saw, that governor Obaseki is one of the very few with passion, commitment and determination for the judicious use of state resources for the good of all. I plead that the funding continues frequently so that the contractors finish the Ekpoma road project sooner than expected”

Elder Omonfuma also called on the national leadership of the APC not to shy away from the task of enforcing party discipline among members.

One of the guests at Elder Pius Omonfuma’s country home, Arc. Austin Ilenre Emuan, one of the APC’s governorship aspirants in the last governorship primaries said;

“Well, I see in all honesty how these works at Ekpoma and environs have been achieved under governor Obaseki, within this short time and, indeed, in the climate of dire economic shortages of government. I am impressed that he is able to do these works within this shortest time. To me, Governor Obaseki is one of the few governors who believe that meagre resources could be used to achieve much, if we remove greed, which breeds corruption.
