Benue LG Polls: James Oche acknowledge PDP supporters, calls for calm

The candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ado local government of Benue State, Comrade James Oche, has acknowledged the wonderful support he enjoyed from party faithful, both in Ado and other parts of the country.

In a statement issued by his campaign organization, Oche specifically appreciated the leadership of the party in Ado and state chapter, for standing by him, during the build up to the election.

The statement, signed by Comrade Gideon Obande, described as “selection”, the ongoing process across the state, urging PDP supporters to remain calm and avoid any confrontation with the process.

“We wish to sincerely appreciate the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, under the leadership of Hon. John Ngbede, for keeping fate with the people at this season of democratic injustice to the Benue People.

“Our profound gratitude, however, goes to God almighty for His mercies. We acknowledge Distinguished Senator David Mark (GCON), H.E Rt. Hon. Gabriel T Suswam, Rt. Hon. Terhemen Tarzor and Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, for sustaining the momentum in defence of democracy within the state and the nation at large.

“The contributions of the likes of Hon Patrick Ogbu, Hon Ekpe Ogbu, Hon Rose Ameh, Hon Ottah Francis, Hon Attah Okibe, Hon Philip Okpekwu, the PDP LG Chairman, Hon. Stephen Aluna and his Exco, chairmen of 10 wards of Ado and their Exco members, cannot go unnoticed, as the followership attained on the field was hinged on their shoulders.

“Worthy of mention, is the wonderful support of Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Stephen Onmeje, Chief Charles Ochima, Prince Edwin Ochai, Hon. Solomon Aboh (Solo 1), Hon. Tony Ogbu, Hon. Andrew Ogbala, Hon. Demion Ujor, Hon.Sunday Aboh and Hon. Mrs. Agnes Uloko.

“Others include, Hon. Oche Elias, Hon. Ogaba Ujah, Hon. Dave Ochai, Hon. Ochonu William, Hon. James Oche (High Man), Hon. Eje Ogaba, Hon. Jane Ede, Hon. Ogebe Onmonya, Mr. Uba Obande, Mr. Emmanuel Onazi and all supporters of our party”, the statement added.

Oche enjoined his supporters, whom he described as “true heroes of democracy”, to wait for the outcome of the legal tussle, “even as we believe that there shall be a greater opportunity in 2019 to show the love in your hearts for the party and eject wickedness from our political system”.
