The Deputy of Governor of Benue State who has been away on assignment in Abuja was in Omusu-Edumoga, Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State to do an on the spot assessment and to pay a condolence visit to the families of the 27 victims of Fulani Herdsmen Terrorism.
Okpokwu LG Chairman, Hon. Francis Olofu Ogwuche received Engr. Benson Abounu at Okpoga led him and his entourage to Omosun community where he paid his condolences to the people and donated relief cash to the affected family while assuring Okpokwu (Omosun) people of more proactive security measures.
The Deputy Gov. frowned at the response of the Police Station at Okpoga because an eyewitness by the name, Chief Okpilitu who is also the oldest Man in Omosun community, narrated that he proactively reported the case at Ojapo Police station, but the Police gave an excuse of mobility. On returning home to Omosun, the Fulani were on ground killing and shooting sporadically!
Engr. Benson Abounu prayed amidst tears for the reposed Souls to rest in peace.
